ShanDong Energy Group Co. Ltd.

ShanDong Province, China

Shandong Energy Group is a large Chinese state-owned energy enterprise formed in 2020, headquartered in Jinan. It operates across coal, power generation, chemicals, engineering, logistics, and new energy initiatives. The group employs over 200,000 people and manages assets exceeding US$140 billion, with a growing focus on clean energy transition.

Its clean energy division has developed substantial solar and wind capacity—over 16 GW—comprising offshore and onshore wind farms, ground-mounted PV parks, and floating solar installations. Notably, the group constructed one of the world’s largest offshore floating solar farms spanning 1 GW on linked steel-truss platforms, integrated with aquaculture activities. They also built significant ground-based PV projects like 30 MW and 50 MW solar parks.

Shandong Energy is expanding transmission infrastructure, smart-grid systems, hydrogen fuel-cell facilities, and hybrid wind-solar-storage plants. The group aims to peak carbon emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. They are active in energy trading and integrated energy management services.
